I have purchased two mountain medic kits, one for home and one for work, with plans to purchase another one or two for my other vehicles.
At home I use the kit in emergency situations I encounter or for initial supplies when responding to a medical call as an EMT before our ambulance arrives if I respond directly to the scene.
At work I use the kit when on wildland fires as a crew firefighter or as an assigned EMT to the incident.
For both uses, I have found these kits to be complete, comprehensive and of quality materials. I have done a lot of reseach and have not found anything that compares in terms of having the things you really need but not a bunch of extras you don't and in terms of price. In short this kit has the right stuff at a great price. Nothing else I have found compares.
The weight is very reasonable and it is apparent that thought went into making sure all components have a purpose and are as lightweight as possible. I have carried the contents of the mountain medic kit in my linegear for hundreds of miles in some pretty extreme conditions while on wildland fires.
I highly recommend this kit to anyone needing to support larger groups of people for an extended amount of time in the backcountry and it's a great kit to have if you happen upon a motor vehicle accident before EMS arrives. Five stars all around!
