Since its introduction in 1975, After Bite® -- The Itch Eraser™ -- has become North America’s top-selling insect bite treatment, outselling its strongest competitor by more than four to one with international sales still growing. In addition to the U.S., After Bite is currently sold in 22 other countries. After Bite® is effective on all insect bites, including mosquito, black fly, chigger, gnat, fire ant, bee stings, hornet stings, even marine-life stings.

This fan mail only reinforces what Tender Corporation has always known about After Bite’s® effectiveness. Before After Bite® became America’s favorite insect bite treatment, an independently conducted study at the Institute for Applied Pharmaceutical Research in Philadelphia proved its effectiveness. This study’s methodology reflected actual usage conditions by exposing people to mosquito bites, then treating their discomfort with either After Bite® or a placebo.

Rarely does a scientific study report 100 percent effectiveness, but in the case of After Bite®, the report concluded "all subjects who were treated with After Bite® were afforded relief from itching and/or burning without the return of symptoms." The report also concluded that no subject received any irritation as a result of treatment with After Bite®.

Other products marketed as bite remedies use Lidocaine or Benzocaine, which temporarily masks the symptoms, whereas After Bite’s® formula works by neutralizing the bite area so that itching is reduced and the bite area heals more quickly. Lidocaine and Benzocaine can also cause skin irritation.
